Your Skin Changes With the Seasons—Your Skincare Should Too

Living on Cape Cod means we get to experience every season—and so does our skin.

As summer gives way to cooler temperatures, lower humidity, and indoor heat, you may notice that your skin suddenly doesn’t behave quite the way it did a few months ago. Skin that felt balanced during the summer may begin to feel dry, tight, dull, or more sensitive.

That’s a good sign that it may be time to adjust your skincare routine.

One of the most common mistakes is assuming that the products and routine that worked well all summer should continue working just as well through fall and winter. Your skin’s needs can change throughout the year, and your skincare should be flexible enough to change with them.

During the cooler months, that might mean adding more hydration, choosing gentler exfoliation, or changing the products you use at home. It can also be a good time for a professional facial to remove buildup and help restore hydration and freshness to the skin.

But more isn’t always better.

Rather than automatically adding another serum, scrub, or treatment, pay attention to how your skin actually feels. Dryness, sensitivity, flaking, or a dull appearance can all be clues that it needs something different.

At EGO Essence of Beauty, Olga takes an individualized approach to skincare. Your facial is selected and customized based on your skin rather than simply following the calendar.

Not sure what your skin needs this season? Schedule a facial with Olga and give your skincare routine a seasonal reset.
